Who said you should give just flowers when you can make it into two of my personal favorites, pizza AND flowers?! My husband said he would just like the pizza, but I beg to differ. So I decided to create a pizza made out of flowers as a fun challenge. Bon appetit!
My hometown, Buffalo, NY, is known for the amazing pizza. I wanted to create something to represent home and what everyone here loves. I used a wide bowl, carnations, and some of my dried red strawflower (pepperoni). The green peppers are kangaroo paw (the plant). No actual kangaroo used here.
I used one of our old pizza boxes from Port's Pizza and Subs (our local pizza shop) to really finish the feel of the arrangement, but the piece was a little too tall to close it up. If only. Soft cream carnations feel like mozzarella cheese. The spiky strawflower gives the piece texture and a kick like pepperoni.
